Orlando Christian Prep (6-0) and Central Florida Christian (6-1) rolled to football wins last week to become the first teams to clinch playoff berths within the Sunshine State Athletic Conference.

OCP wrapped up the Beach Division title with a 68-14 victory over Faith Christian. Sophomores Kevince Brown and Alex Briggs combined for 18 tackles in the win.

CFCA, which owes its only loss to OCP,  clinched second place in that divison with a 50-0 win over Master’s Academy. CFCA freshman QB Gehrig Chambless ran for three TDs and threw for two to Bradley Dos Santos in the rout.

Mount Dora Bible (6-0) can take the Orange Division with a win this Friday at Lecanto Seven Rivers Christian (5-1).

Windermere Prep (5-0) looks to lock up the Bay Division by beating Lakeland Santa Fe Catholic (3-2) on Monday afternoon at 4. The game date was changed at the request of Santa Fe. One of the school's players, 17-year-old senior Gil Kromer, died on Sunday from what doctors have said is probably spiral meningitis. After Kromer was hospitalized, the Hawks canceled a game against Seffner Christian that was scheduled to be played last Saturday.

Eight teams, including Naples Community School (7-0) and Berean Christian (5-0) of West Palm Beach, will make the three-week SSAC playoffs, which start on Oct. 31.

The league is made up of Florida High School Athletic Association member schools that have chosen the SSAC over district play.
