New SSAC Director of Safety and Health
The SSAC is excited to name David Pitts as the new Director of Safety and Health for the conference. The SSAC's primary focus will always be player safety and injury prevention. In keeping with that focus, the new position of Director of Safety and Health was created. As our new Director, David will focus on the following:
A. Overseeing, coordinating and ensuring compliance with SSAC's Safety policies and procedures
B. Seek out innovations to reduce and prevent injury risk to student athletes
C. Make recommendations for changes to existing policies or recommend new policies and procedures that address athletes safety and injury prevention.
David has been involved in a variety of sports and athletics for the last decade. He has been involved in the administration and coaching side of high school and middle school basketball, tennis, football, golf and baseball. He is a graduate of Liberty University and is currently the Athletic Director for Orangewood Christian School. The SSAC is thrilled to have him on board!
