Growing up in Kentucky, Jacob Doss comes from a family of Division I football players and coaches. As an outstanding high school quarterback, Jacob Doss led Lexington Catholic High School to a 38-5 record during his three seasons as a starter and carried the team to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs his senior season. Over the course of his high school career, Doss was named to the Commonwealth of Kentucky Elite 22 his senior year, earned All-State honors from the Louisville Courier Journal, was a finalist for the "Mr. Football" award in the state of Kentucky, and was named District Player of the Year. He threw for a combined 8,034 yards in three seasons, completing 470 of 768 passes (.612). Doss threw for 112 touchdowns, while having only 27 passes intercepted -- a ratio of 4.1 touchdown passes to every one interception. He set a new Kentucky state record of completing at least one touchdown pass in 39 consecutive games during his career. This statistic shattered the previous record held by former University of Kentucky and NFL quarterback Tim Couch. Couch threw at least one TD pass in 30 consecutive high school games as a standout in the state of Kentucky. Doss concluded his career at the #5 spot as the total offense leader in the state of Kentucky. He also finished second in the record books for the most touchdown passes in state history. Having earned numerous awards and accolades, Doss was recruited by several SEC and Big Ten Conference schools. He went on to become a member of Coach Joe Glenn¹s first recruiting class at the University of Wyoming where he was a two-time Academic All-Conference player and lettered in 3 of his 4 seasons. As a Wyoming Cowboy, Doss threw 8 touchdowns and completed 62% of his passes. After a career-ending injury during his senior season, Doss discovered his passion for coaching attending all coaches' meetings and contributing to offensive game plans.
Utilizing his knowledge and expertise of the game, Coach Doss founded the Windermere Prep Football Program in 2009. Since its inception, the team has compiled an overall record of 20 wins and 16 losses. One of the program's notable achievements is its 100% graduation rate, with 98% of those seniors going onto college, three of whom have signed with football scholarships. Coach Doss has coached in several All Star games, Nike Coaching Clinics, and Quarterback Camps.
Personal: Coach Doss is engaged to be married in March to his beautiful fiancé Jessica Van der Meulen, who is a 7th grade teacher at Windermere Prep and they have 1 year old golden retriever named Woodford.
