Bill grew up in Apalachicola. He has also lived in Port St. Joe, Panama City Beach, and now in Grand Ridge, FL. As a long-time native of north Florida, he is proud to help bring the north Florida rural football division to be part of the SSAC. He truly believes this is going to be an exciting time in North Florida Football!

Bill Thomas is a long-time native of north Florida. He has been married to Laura Thomas for twenty years and they have two sons, Matthew Thomas who is a quarterback for the Point University Sky Hawks, and Zach Thomas who is a sophomore at Sneads High School. Bill started his career in 1997 as the head football coach and athletic director at Apalachicola High School. During his three years there, he led them to two winning seasons and their first trip to the playoffs since 1974. In 2000, Bill moved to Arnold High School as assistant head football coach and assistant baseball coach. He became the head weightlifting coach in 2006 and led them to three state titles. During his time as assistant football coach at Arnold, they made six playoff appearances. Bill took the head football coaching position at Sneads High School in February 2013 and led them in 2018 to their 3rd trip ever to the second round of the playoffs in school history.
